Ok, so it’s not technically a ‘testimonial’ but it’s a true story and it’s pretty darn funny…
Sometime during 1850 a Mr. Thornton (of the firm of Thornton, Smith & Firth) came from England a complete cripple, having had to use crutches for 15 years. Thornton had travelled the world trying the famous continental springs, without deriving any benefit. To the surprise of everybody, after a mere six weeks’ residence at Waiwera, bathing and “taking the waters”, he threw away his crutches, and pronounced himself as well as ever he was in his life. He then walked to Auckland, a rough journey in those days of twenty-four miles through bush country, where he lived prosperously for another twenty-four years.
