Waiwera (in full, Waiwerawera) literally translates as 'extremely hot water'. It makes
sense when you learn that this unique geothermal artesian water rises naturally to the surface at a temperature of 53°C (127°F)
Which in turn makes sense of the 3000 Maori seen bathing in holes dug in the sand at Waiwera in the 1840's.
Even more significant is that carbon dating by “GNS” estimates Waiwera water to be between 7,300 & 15,600 years old. Which means it was roughly 10,000 BC when water vapour formed as clouds over the South Pole, was blown north by arctic winds, fell as rain on the bush clad hills of the deserted Waiwera valley & seeped through the earth into the vast aquifer. Given the first humans didn´t reach Waiwera for another 11,300 years, it´s fair to say Waiwera Artesian Water today is as pure as you can get.
To ensure Waiwera Water reaches you untouched, in the pristine condition that it existed deep beneath the earth we sunk a bore to 400 meters. The water is then drawn
directly into our state-of-the art bottling plant, undergoes an advanced filtration process before being bottled, capped & shipped from right here in little old Waiwera.
